Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas, everyone! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at my mom's last night. Lots of great food: lechon (Filipino ham), pansit (Filipino noodles), skewered pork bbq, salmon, crab and lobsters, macaroni and cheese, chocolate cake, cheesecake and bibingka (Filipino rice cake) for desserts and seven (7) bottles of wine. It was a very good night. While the grown-ups were still chatting after dinner, the kids got impatient and started divvying up all the presents, so we all sat-down in the living room and went around to open one present at a time starting with the youngest member of the family. My mom got the most loot, even more than the kids. She kept saying, "You guys shouldn't have." Although, we all know she was totally loving all the attention and gifts. Lots of toys for the kids and my children lots of cash - one size fits all and at their age, it's really the safest gift. After all that, we sat back in the dining table drinking coffee with desserts and played a game called Headbandz. Everyone joined, even my own husband. It was a lot of fun especially watching family members trying to guess the answer while intoxicated. Haha! I love this time of the year and I am so thankful for my crazy but wonderful family.

Well, as promised I am sharing another Christmas card I created this year to send out. My daughter is in the Marching Band and Drumline, so as soon as I saw this bundle, I knew I had to get it. It's called Musical Season stamp set and Musical Instruments Framelits Dies. It coordinates beautifully with the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper and Foil Snowflakes.

I stamped the musical instruments with Versamark Pad and Black Embossing Powder, then heat embossed before I cut out with the framelits in my Big Shot machine.

Desk Calendars

Better late than never...happy New Year, everyone. I want to make sure I post this before January is over. It has been a very busy 2017 for me so far. I'd been sick and it seems like recovery has been frustratingly slow. I still manage to find time to create, just not enough time to sit down and post.

This is my second year creating these desk calendars and sending them off to friends and family. I must say even I am impressed with how beautiful they turn out...and so easy to make. Which one is your favorite? Also, check out last year's version here.

I purchase the mini calendars from Skybluepink.com I usually order mine from them around August or September because these calendars do sell out. I will list below the products I used to create these calendars that are still current and orderable. Some items I used have already been retired like the River Rock card stocks and ribbon, Timeless Portrait DSP, Memorable Moments stamp set (for the year), 1" Square Punch and the Black Glimmer Paper. I am sure you can find substitutes for these products.

Market Fresh & Berry Basket Bigz Die

Happy Friday, everyone! My daughter just reminded me this morning that there are only three days left before school is out. Wow, we survived another school year. It's unbelievable how fast time flies. She doesn't think so because she's only fifteen. Just like I couldn't wait to get older when I was that age. Now, I wish I had done more. Although, if you talk to people who knew me back then, they'd probably say, I'd done plenty and gotten into a lot of trouble. I really did. I wish I applied more effort to do better in school. I could have been an honor student, but I skated by with okay grades because I was too busy being boy crazy or skipping classes to go to the movies - just because I was told not to. Haha! Typical defiant me. My friends saved my behind so many times, and I am very grateful. So, to my high school peeps - you know who you are, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope we can reconnect soon and not just virtually.

I want to show-off these baskets created with the Berry Basket Bigz Die and Market Fresh stamp set. So easy to put together and the Hardwood background stamp really made it a lot cuter. I had so much fun making them. I colored the grapes image using Aqua Painters and Blackberry Bliss, Cherry Cobbler and Rich Razzleberry stamp pads. Then I added Crystal Effects, let them dry overnight and fussy cut them out. I then adhered them with stampin' dimensionals. These baskets are so versatile and will be awesome for party favors. Both of these Berry Basket Die and Market Fresh stamp set will be retiring at the end of this month. They are a must have addition to your collection.
