Lemon Zest

Happy Friday! I so needed this weekend five days ago. I've been feeling kind of in the dumps. I don't know why I allow others to rain on my parade or why I take things too seriously. It's just a job...it's not who I am, right? It's a means to an end - it's what I do to be able to do the things I love to do. These sentences have been my mantra the past year or so every morning before I go to work. It's been a rough and challenging sixteen months and sadly, I don't see even a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel. Oh well. But it IS Friday and I look forward to a weekend of card making therapy. Thank goodness, I have this and my family. I will follow the sentiment on this card and drink some tequila with my limes. Haha.

Today I want to share a fun fold card that we made in class last week called Joy Fold card created with the adorable Lemon Zest bundle. This set is so versatile and an absolute must have.

It's hard to see from the photo but I used Wink of Stella Clear to accentuate the edges of the limes.
The sentiment on this one is not Stampin' Up! Sorry, it is from Unity Stamps.
Well, that's all for today, folks. Thank you for stopping by. Happy weekend! The list of products used to create this card is below.

Nature Sings

It's Christmas in July, everyone! I can't believe we are now approaching August 2017 - back to school season and fall. It's not too early to get a head start on Christmas and holiday cards. When I saw this stamp set in the brand new Annual Catalog, I just knew it would be in my very first order. Some things just jump out at me. Do you ever get that way? I do! Big time! I just had to have this set. So, I was very happy when this card turned out really nice...and so very easy and simple to make. Sometimes, less really is more.

I used the retired Two-Way Glue Pen all over the trees and ground then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter for snow effect

Eastern Beauty Bundle

Happy Friday, everyone! I know I'd been absent. I had shingles! Yikes! If you haven't had a shingles shot, please get it. This darn thing was painful. A slight touch of my clothing made me wince. Sadly, I've experienced both the sharp pains of childbirth and kidney stones. However, the nerve pain brought by shingles felt like having tiny teeth gnawing at my inside. It was a dull yet prolonged pain. My doctor prescribed pain meds, but it only made me groggy. I was in too much discomfort and too tired to do anything for a few weeks. Oh well, I am better now.

I was not initially planning on purchasing the Eastern Beauty bundle, but after seeing so many projects on Pinterest and Youtube, I finally did. I'm so glad! This set is so versatile. I can't wait to use it to create Christmas cards. Apparently, this same image and framelits that you see on this card with a red or cherry cobbler card stock turns into a poinsettia. Some crafters are just so clever. Thank goodness for Pinterest.

I am also very excited that Stampin' Up! finally have Thick Very Vanilla card stocks (awesome for card base) and mini stampin' dimensionals now (for those small images or cut-outs).

Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas, everyone! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at my mom's last night. Lots of great food: lechon (Filipino ham), pa...
