Best Thoughts

It's the last day of April and I finally just had time to download more photos. So, I want to stop by and share with you this monochromatic card using a host stamp set called Best Thoughts. I am not a gardener but I do appreciate flowers and I am no painter so this is the closest I could get to being both. This host stamp set will soon be retired so I am doing my best to utilize and share all of my sets that will no longer be available to order or earn.

I just love Elegant Eggplant. The name says it all, "elegant". I think you can never go wrong with rich colors like this one. You can use it with white or black. So classic...and this layout is so versatile. You can easily just change the sentiments and it can be a Sympathy card or Anniversary or Friendship/Thinking of You card, right? How about Mother's Day card? Yes, absolutely. My mom loves anything purple. So, she was on my mind when I was creating it.
Well, that is all I have for today. My chores await. The list of products I used to create this card is below.

Mini Drawers & Cupboards

Thank goodness it's Friday, indeed! I've had such a busy week and I already predict May to be an even busier month. Anyway, I want to share a couple of mini drawers/cupboards that I was working on. They were quite time consuming to put together. I first adhered all the wood pieces together using wood glue. Let them dry, then painted with white acrylic gesso, let them dry, then painted them with acrylic paint. After they dried overnight, I measured and cut-up the designer papers, sponged around the edges using Soft Suede ink pad and glued them using Mod Podge. Lastly, I put Mod Podge all over to give them a sheen finish. Didn't I say time consuming? Yep, but I am very happy with the results. I think it was worth it.
This mini drawer is from SACrafters. I bought them when I went to the Scrapbook Expo last month. I checked out her online store, but she charges so much for shipping. I guess I'll just have to wait to go to another Scrapbook Expo, right?
I still don't know what I'm going to use this one with. Perhaps makeup or spools or ribbons. Who knows if I'll even use them. I might just display and admire them. Smile.
I think this one will be perfect to put my OPI nail polish collection. I just love creating anything with paper! This DSP has been retired. I thought the gingham would be perfect for a county look.
This cupboard is from KaiserCrafts
Aren't they so cute? I want to make more. Well, that's all I have to share for today. Have a wonderful weekend, everybody!

A Nice Cuppa + Cups & Kettle

Happy Monday, everyone! I have been feeling a little bit under the weather lately. I kept thinking it's my allergies, but when my throat started to hurt I figured I was coming down with something. I feel much better, but still feel so exhausted. However, that did not stop me from having a very busy weekend filled with errands and chores.

The Retiring List is out. I am going to have to really be smart this coming catalog season and just purchase products I truly love. I was hoping this stamp set/framelits dies Designer Series Paper stack bundle A Nice Cuppa would carry over to the new catalog, but no - they are going to be retired. So, if you don't have this bundle yet, you have to hurry up and order it now. It's a must have addition to your Stampin' Up! collection. I am a coffee/tea drinker, so as soon I saw them in the Occasion's catalog, I knew I had to have them. The bundle is so versatile and super cute. Finding out that they are retiring is not good for me. I seriously feel the need to hoard the paper. They are a perfect match!

Well, that is all for now. Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful week, everyone. The list of products used to create this card is below.

April 2016 Paper Pumpkin + Bonus

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is super special. Not only is it cute and so easy to put together. It came with a special stamp set - exclusive to subscribers. Stampin' Up! does generous things like this every so often. I truly enjoy receiving my monthly kits. It gives me something to be excited about and look forward to. I love the element of surprise. Granted that there have been one or two kits I was not too happy about. But for the most part, they've all been pretty awesome! I particularly like how all the hard work has been done for me: directions, photos, video and all the materials are provided for me so I can just create. I do find pleasure in coming up with ideas for a card layout, but sometimes...it's also nice when I can save some of my brain cells. That's where Paper Pumpkin comes in. To me, it's like Christmas in a box that comes once a month - which also helps me save some of my quickly depleting brain cells. Haha.

Well, I hope you are already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber. If not, it's not too late to join the fun an creativity in a box. If you're a paper crafter like me, please give it a chance. You can cancel it anytime if you're not completely satisfied.

Please sign-up by May 10th in order to receive next month's kit by going to mypaperpumpkin.com and please remember to choose me as your Stampin' Up! demonstrator: Melinda Pascual.

Thank you for stopping by!

Gift from the Garden

It was a very rainy weekend and I completely took that as an excuse to be lazy. My son has been raving about this writer he loves so much, Haruki Murakami. He's always sharing lines from his books on his Instagram page. So, I bought my first Haruki Murakami book and I could not put the darn thing down. I know for sure that I am on a quest to read all of his books. This to me is going to be like when I got so obsessed with Pearl S. Buck and her books for sure.

Anyway, I want to share this really cute card which is awesome for all the gardeners in your life. I just love this stamp set, Gift from the Garden. I really like the solid images of the stamps. I know this will be a new addition to my many favorites.
I stamped the shovel on a scrap of white cardstock using Wild Wasabi ink pad then put Crystal Effects all over the image. I let it dry overnight then trim around it with paper snips scissors and adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals on the middle of the card for added 3D effect.

Well, that is all for now. Thank you for stopping by, folks. Below are the products I used to create this card. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas, everyone! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at my mom's last night. Lots of great food: lechon (Filipino ham), pa...
