Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas, everyone! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at my mom's last night. Lots of great food: lechon (Filipino ham), pansit (Filipino noodles), skewered pork bbq, salmon, crab and lobsters, macaroni and cheese, chocolate cake, cheesecake and bibingka (Filipino rice cake) for desserts and seven (7) bottles of wine. It was a very good night. While the grown-ups were still chatting after dinner, the kids got impatient and started divvying up all the presents, so we all sat-down in the living room and went around to open one present at a time starting with the youngest member of the family. My mom got the most loot, even more than the kids. She kept saying, "You guys shouldn't have." Although, we all know she was totally loving all the attention and gifts. Lots of toys for the kids and my children lots of cash - one size fits all and at their age, it's really the safest gift. After all that, we sat back in the dining table drinking coffee with desserts and played a game called Headbandz. Everyone joined, even my own husband. It was a lot of fun especially watching family members trying to guess the answer while intoxicated. Haha! I love this time of the year and I am so thankful for my crazy but wonderful family.

Well, as promised I am sharing another Christmas card I created this year to send out. My daughter is in the Marching Band and Drumline, so as soon as I saw this bundle, I knew I had to get it. It's called Musical Season stamp set and Musical Instruments Framelits Dies. It coordinates beautifully with the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper and Foil Snowflakes.
I stamped the musical instruments with Versamark Pad and Black Embossing Powder, then heat embossed before I cut out with the framelits in my Big Shot machine.
And the ones below are gifts I created for co-worker and friends.

Hershey Bar slider using Garden Green cardstock and Be Mery Designer Series Paper
Hershey Kisses in 3x6 Gussetted Cellophane bags (141704) using Wood Crate Framelits Dies, (143730) Starburst punch (143717) and Seasonal Chums bundle
Hot Cocoa and Candy Cane using Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies (137547) and the very versatile Hug in a Mug stamp set (144933)
That's all for today, folks. Merry Christmas, everyone!!! I wish you all Peace and Love this holiday season and always.

Christmas Eve 2017

Well, hello there! It's been awhile, I know. I can't believe it's Christmas Eve. It really sneaked up on me. I would like to share a couple of cards I sent out this year. I just love clean and simple cards, don't you? I was so busy the last three weeks at work and then after all the running around when everything was over, my body just crashed and I ache all over. I've been sick for a few days now and it's so hard to feel festive when you feel like crap, you know. All I want to do is stay in my pajamas and crawl in my warm bed. Oh well, my son is home and it's so wonderful to have both my kids at screaming distance. Heheh.
Christmas Quilt Bundle with coordinating Quilted Christmas DSP,  Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and stamp pad, Real Red stamp pad and Basic Black cardstock
Super clean and simple card. I just love it!

Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Snowflake Sentiments stamp set, Shimmery White Paper, Emerald Envy cardstock and stamp pad, rhinestone and of course Sizzix Big Shot machine
Well, that's all I have for now. I have a few more Christmas cards to share with you. So, hopefully I can post them before this year ends. Thank you for stopping by and May you and your loved ones have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Christmas Sweaters

For the last five or so years we have been doing an Ugly Sweater contest at our Company Holiday party. So, when I saw this stamp set on the Holiday Catalog, I just had to have it. Plus I thought it would be perfect to color. I don't have the Stampin' Blends markers yet, so I am sure those will color even better.
I colored the sweater with Stampin Write markers then fussy cut it and adhered on the square white cardstock using a Stampin' Dimensionals.
It's hard to see on the photo but I used the Tombow Liquid Glue on Santa's beard, eyebrows and hat pom-pom, then sprinkled  Dazzling Diamonds all over to add dimension on the card. It turned out really cute.
Well, that's all for today, folks. Thank you for stopping by. The products used to create this card is below.

Retired BNF #33

It's Black Friday and I decided to stay in my pajamas and relax. Everybody's still asleep so I was able to take my time drinking my coffee this morning.

I realize it's been a long time since I posted a card using retired stamp sets. This stamp set was one of the very first ones I purchased from Stampin' Up! when I became a demonstrator thirteen years ago. It's called Sweet Seasons and I really love all four images that came in this set. It has an image of either a boy or a girl of four different seasons. Even back then I enjoyed coloring so I knew I had to have them. Over the years, I have acquired many stamp sets and let go of many, too. However, there are still quite a few that I know are keepers such as this set. Anyway, I am hoping I can find time to dust off my favorite retired stamps and use them.

This card was so simple and easy to create. I just stamped the image on a watercolor paper and colored using my ink pads and Aqua Painter. It brought me much needed peace and refuge.
Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of you Thanksgiving  weekend.

Sheltering Tree

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I've been lazy all morning although I have managed to make five Christmas cards. I just chose not to do any chores around the house. My husband played golf today, so I thought that I should do what I love to do as well. I want to share this card with you created with the Sheltering Tree (137163) stamp set. I love this set and have found it very versatile. I think I have made cards for Valentine's Day, Christmas and Thanksgiving cards with it. It really is a must have to add to your collection.
I stamped the tree first in Early Espresso then used sponge daubers to add Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz ink on the branches of leaves then used the leaves image all over by using Rich Razzleberry and Cherry Cobbler ink pads.
It's hard to see on the photo but I added drops of glaze or glossy accents randomly on the leaves just all over to add another dimension to the image. It actually turned out really nice.
Well, that's all for today, folks. I'm going to get ready to go to my mom's for our Thanksgiving dinner. Have fun and be safe shopping tomorrow!

Count My Blessings

Sometimes, a girl just needs to take a random day off to chill, to do whatever makes her happy and to not have to deal with the bullshit of work. That was me today. I kept myself occupied, but it was my kind of busy. My daughter was in school, my husband played golf and I was alone. Then I picked-up my daughter from school, went back home and took a long nap. What a gift today was! I did a lot of watercoloring and made eight cards. The whole time trying to come up with ideas how I can afford to just do this...how I can quit my job and make this work. Well, a girl can dream...Smile.

I just love this Count My Blessings stamp set and the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. It's definitely in a Must Hoard category. Haha.

I stamped the image using Versamark ink and then black embossing powder, heat embossed. After that I used aqua markers and ink pads to color. The clear wink of Stella made a difference by adding shimmer after the coloring.
Well, that's all folks. This weekend is going to be very busy, my daughter's Band Review, my son's coming home and my sister and nephew are coming to visit. I made a few fall cards today - hopefully I can post them before this month ends. Oh well, happy weekend, everyone! The products used to create this card is below.
